Chandler's Ford school targets new world record
A CHANDLER'S Ford School is aiming to break a world record on Friday (Oct 19) with help from Winchester University.
Thornden School is taking part in the world's largest memory game involving a 10-minute test contributing to a national scientific study.
Dr Wendy Kneller from the psychology department at the university is acting as an independent witness to verify the attempt and explain her research into eyewitness memory to the children.
She said: “This is a great opportunity for children to meet real scientists. They will also be able to learn about the various types of memory research that are currently being conducted by scientists in the field.”
The test takes place at 2.30pm across the country and has been prepared by psychologist Prof Bruce Hood of the University of Bristol as part of the UK's first-ever 'Biology Week'.
