Police warn residents to protect jewellery after burglary in Winchester

A pair of earrings stolen from the Headbourne Worthy home
POLICE are warning residents to protect their jewellery following a burglary in Winchester.
Residents are advised to take pictures of valuable jewellery to help police track them should they be stolen.
It follows a burglary in Pudding Lane, Headbourne Worthy last month where a lifetime collection of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings were taken.
The burglary occurred on Monday, September 8, between 8am-7.45pm.
PC Andrew Ferguson of Winchester Police Station said: “If you have valuable jewellery in your home, take photographs to assist in locating the property should it be stolen and consider storing items in a safe.
“This burglary has seen a lifetime collection of jewellery stolen including items passed down from previous generations that cannot be replaced.
