A MOTORCYCLIST was injured in a crash near Winchester earlier this afternoon.

The 31-year-old male, from Worthy Down, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries to his legs after colliding with another motorcycle on the A272 near Cheesefoot Head.

He was driving a Honda CBR 600 while the other driver, a 50-year-old man from Winchester, was riding a Suzuki motorcycle when the collision occurred around 3.15pm on Saturday, September 29.

The injured man was taken to Southampton General Hospital while the other rider was unhurt.

Police confirmed an investigation was ongoing but no arrests had been made.

The road was closed for around an hour-and-a-half and was reopened at 5pm.
