Exhibition of old photographs in Meon Valley village
LONG-LOST Swanmore will be the subject of an exhibition in the village next month.
Dozens of old photographs will be on show in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Exhibition - Swanmore Past and Present which is being held in the Paterson Centre.
Many of the photographs have previously appeared in author Keith Harrington’s books on the village.
The exhibition is on Saturday October 6 10am-5pm and Sunday October 7 from 2-5pm.
Copies of Swanmore in Pictures 1870-1970 Revisited by Mr Harrington will be on sale together with publications by other local authors.
Films covering events of historical interest in Swanmore will be shown in St Barnabas Church which the Paterson Centre adjoins.
Exhibition coordinator is Crawford Wright, the village archivist, who can be contacted on 01489 893378. He will be pleased to hear from anyone who might have items to contribute.
