MACMILLAN'S Mobile Cancer Information & Support Service is in Winchester today.

A team of information and support specialists will be on hand to answer questions or concerns about cancer outside the Guildhall until 4pm. MP Steve Brine was on hand to show his support earlier. He said: “The word cancer holds such fear and I know that feeling sadly all too well. Macmillan are such a trusted organisation, providing palliative care nurses that are so valued but also helping answer questions and that is what today is about."

More than one in three people will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives and organisers say many people in Winchester are either living with cancer themselves, or know a relative or friend who has been diagnosed who would benefit from the service. John Galfin, Macmillan information and support specialist, says: “If you have any worries or questions about anything to do with cancer, whether it's about yourself, a relative or friend, come and talk to our specialists face-to-face. It's free and completely confidential.”

The service will be outside Winchester Guildhall today (Wednesday, September 5) and no appointment is necessary. Visit www.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising if you wish to make a donation to the Macmillan charity.
