WINCHESTER Cathedral tomorrow hosts the start of Naomi House children’s hospice’s flagship event, the 26-mile Clarendon Way Walk (Sunday June 10).

Registration for the walk begins at 7.30am in the cathedral grounds. An estimated 800 people are due to take part.

Following a 7.45am warm-up session, led by BBC’s Sally Taylor, and an address by cathedral clergy, hundreds of walkers will begin from 8am.

Walkers completing the marathon distance will be joined at the village of Broughton by those opting to complete a 12-mile route.

The last of the walkers is expected to finish by 7pm. Participants will be presented with medals and certificates as they complete their challenge.

There are nearly 800 people signed up for the challenge and between them will have raised thousands of pounds to support the work of the children’s hospice at Sutton Scotney.
