THE latest revision of Contemporary Creed by Winchester author The Rev Dr John Morris has been launched.

Building on his 2005 book, the 2012 version is packed with plenty of new material.

The author was ordained as an Anglican clergyman in 1995 and was chaplain of Twyford School for 11 years.

Now living at Parkside Gardens in Weeke, he is a long-standing lecturer in Britain and overseas.

During his time in Uganda, he taught the now Archbishop of York, The Most Rev Dr John Sentamu, who has endorsed the book.

In his introduction the author says he wants Contemporary Creed to be open to those who “find faith difficult”.

It seeks to answer some fundamental questions and also contains more than 60 poems.

The 2012 version received its official launch at Waterstones in the Brooks Centre, Winchester, on Friday (May 25).

Around 60 people came along to the event and no fewer than 50 signed copies were sold that evening.

Proceeds from his book are going towards raising money to help disabled children. The author has a 13-year-old grandson, Daniel, who is handicapped and trying to learn to walk unaided.

Contemporary Creed by John Morris is published by O Books, priced £9.99p.
