IT is normally used to show things that are millions of miles, if not light years away.

But the latest show at The Astrium Planetarium at the Intech Centre near Winchester will focus on something nearer home.

Cell! Cell! Cell!, which will receive its premiere on Tuesday, May 29, explores the human body and the micro-world of cells with animated guides Raj and Sooki.

Planetarium manager Dr Jenny Shipway said: “We’re proud to present this major new ‘fulldome’ film. This is the story of the trillions of cells that form our bodies, from our beginnings as a single cell to the complexity of a whole body: it’s the story of who we are.

“Later in the year this show will be rolled out across the UK and sold internationally.”

The movie has been produced by NSC Creative at the National Space Centre in Leicester and funded by the Wellcome Trust.

The film goes on general show to Intech visitors from Saturday, June 2 onwards.
