BINKY is back.

The dapper bear in his green waistcoat has returned for a new adventure after his first outing, which was set in Alresford.

His latest book, Binky in Trouble, is based in Winchester and features many of the city’s landmarks including the cathedral.

Binky’s trail also includes College Walk, Kingsgate Arch and the River Itchen weirs. Hammond’s Passage, which runs alongside the former Hampshire Chronicle offices, is also included.

The Old Vine in Great Minster Street and Ginger Two in St Thomas Street feature as well.

Binky’s latest adventure sees him befriend a shaggy dog and a barn owl, and get into a tricky spot with a dustbin.

The book contains a host of Winchester photographs and was released earlier this month (May).

It comes hot on the heels of Hamleys toy store in London agreeing to stock the first book, Binky’s Big Adventure.

Since it was published last year, Binky’s creators, Liz Nankivell and Moira Blackwell, have been working on the sequel.

The writers, who live in Bishops Sutton, spent several weeks taking photographs in Winchester.

Next on the agenda is the launch of Binky bear replica toys, which is planned for later this year.

Binky in Trouble is now on sale in Winchester at the Discovery Centre, Cornflowers gift shop and the cathedral bookshop.

It is being stocked in Alresford by Oxleys bookshop, Oakleaf stationery, The Long Barn and Caracoli.

The Winchester and Alton branches of Waterstones are also selling the book. Visit binkybear.co.uk for more details.
