GIRLS from the 2nd Four Marks Brownies near Alresford have recorded a musical tribute for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The youngsters aged seven to ten wrote a song, Diamond Year, with their help of their leader, Gwen Clifford.
She said: “The girls wanted to say thank you to The Queen, so what better way than through a song to share that they can all be a part of.”
They recorded it at Earth Terminal Studios in Odiham before sending a copy to Buckingham Palace, which has replied with a thank you letter.
East Hampshire District and Four Marks Parish Councils each donated £125 towards the recording costs.
The Brownies are due to perform Diamond Year at the Alton Jubilee Prom on Saturday, June 2 and the Four Marks Village Picnic the day after.
