For 46 years, Chipstead Golf Club ladies team have played Woodcote Park Golf ladies in an annual golf match.
Last Friday, June 22, on the Woodcote Park course, Chipstead comfortably took the trophy by winning five of the pairs against Woodcote's two.
Competing for the Farley Cup, this splendid trophy was originally presented in 1953 by Nora Farley, who used to live in The Well Cottage, Doghurst Lane, Chipstead.
Nora was a member oat the time of both the Chipstead and Woodcote Park clubs.
The competition is played annually between seven pairs of lady players.
To date, after the recent Chipstead win, the scores are level with 23 wins each and two draws since the competition began.
