Motorcyclist and passenger named by police
9:31am Sunday 4th March 2012 in News
Police have named the motorcyclist and his pillion passenger who died in a horror crash with a car in Hampshire.
Julian Farley, 25, and Jessica Ellis, 23, from Tudor Crescent, Portsmouth, were on a Triumph bike that collided with a Nissan Micra on the A339 near Basingstoke, at Audleys Wood last night. The young couple were riding towards Alton when the collision occurred at 6.30pm. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver, a 17-year-old boy from Alton, was unhurt.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed until May 3 for further enquiries.
A Hampshire police spokesman today said officers urgently need to speak to the driver of a blue vehicle travelling from Basingstoke to Alton at the time of the collision.
Officers are also appealing for any other witnesses to contact them on 101.
