A BIT of showbiz glamour was injected into the weekly shop for customers at a Winchester supermarket.
Staff at Tesco in Easton Lane, Winnall, dressed up as musical icons to raise money for charity.
Those impersonated during the event on Saturday (February 11) included Lady Gaga and The Village People.
Along with charity collections, there was also a pop quiz along with a Guitar Hero contest.
Employees are counting the proceeds, which will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Tesco has set itself the nationwide target of raising £5m for the charity, and it has already reached £5.7m.
The Winchester branch has raised £4,500 since the campaign started in spring last year.
Ruth Kirkby, community champion at the Winnall store, said: “It’s great to know that our efforts will help more people live well with dementia and I would like to thank our customers for their support.”
