POLICE yesterday named a driver killed after his car collided with a tree in the Meon Valley.
Peter Lonsdale, 45, of Gosport, died instantly when his red Citroen Xantia collided with the tree on the A272 at West Meon Hut on Tuesday, January 24.
The crash happened at around 5am at Kitts Lane, east of Bramdean, and saw the road closed for 11 hours.
Sergeant Wayne Voller, investigating, said: “I’d urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
Any witnesses should contact Sgt Voller on 101, quoting Operation Gainsborough.
