MEMBERS of the Hampshire fashion community flocked to Winchester this week to celebrate the local industry.

Several Winchester designers attended a networking party at art studio The Colour Factory in Gordon Road on Wednesday (Oct 19) evening.

The party was hosted by market website EtsyUK and This is Your Kingdom (TiYK), a site run by Winchester resident Hannah Needham and her business partner Rebecca Gaunt which highlights attractions and businesses throughout the UK.

Guests included Hampshire businesses Urban Bird Design, Handmade Winchester and Rachel Drewer Millinery, who brought along samples of their work while enjoying wine and cake.

Hannah said: “The evening was a huge success, a lovely chance for us to meet our readers and a brilliant networking opportunity for small independent local businesses.”

TiYK has recently been selected by former BBC Dragon’s Den member Doug Richard’s ‘School for Creative Start Ups’ which began in September.

Hannah added: “We hope this will provide the visibility, know-how and support we need to make what is a small start-up develop into a thriving successful business.”
