HAMPSHIRE County Council staff have helped raise more than £1,000 for charity after a marathon football match.
Two teams of county council employees played out a 12-hour eight-a-side match for Naomi House Hospice on Sunday, July 16 at the Winchester University sports ground at Bar End.
There were goals galore as the reds beat the whites 102-87 as both teams put in a valiant effort.
Graham Stockwell, 25, who works in child services and scored the first goal of the match, said: “It was a great day and a great team effort by everyone involved. My legs are killing me but it was all for a good cause.”
Donations can still be made to the cause for another month by visiting www.justgiving.com/CSFC.
