Winchester civic chiefs have confirmed their hardline stance on sex shops and entertainment venues.
The city council has tightened the rules to try to ensure they never get a hold in the cathedral city.
The changes under the Policing and Crime Act 2009 give it greater power to deny a licence for any sex-related premises such as a shop, cinema and now any lap dancing clubs.
There are currently no such places in the Winchester district and the council licensing and regulation committee is keen to maintain the status quo.
