AN OPTICIANS is keeping an eye on Winchester’s health this week with a public drop-in evening.
Winchester Specsavers is holding a public health session on the many problems that can be spotted by a visit to the opticians on Tuesday evening.
The topics will include glaucoma, diabetes and cataracts among others, and all visitors will be given a free MOT on their glasses.
Malini Barchha, director of the branch, says: ‘Eye health is often overlooked but we want to make people aware that visiting the opticians is just as important as a trip to the doctors or dentists. The aim of tonight is to educate the public on the importance of regular eye examinations and the services available to people of all ages.’ The session lasts from 5.30pm until 8pm at the shop in the Brooks Centre. For more information, call 01962 844833 or visit www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/winchester.
