JUNIOR church children at Swanmore Methodist Church have been packing shoeboxes with Christmas presents.
The gifts will be sent to less fortunate children in other countries as part of the Samaritan’s Purse International Relief charity scheme.
A good number of boxes are sent every year from Swanmore Methodist Church and this year the young people of “The Amazing Christian Experience (ACE)” have again been busy packing their own boxes.
They will be sent with many others from churches in the area to a packing warehouse in Eastleigh. They will then join boxes from other organisations and individuals throughout the UK to be sent to deserving children in countries such as Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique and to others in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
Before packing their boxes the children had enjoyed a breakfast in the church of bacon butties and fruit. Needles to say the smell of the bacon was tempting to the congregation during their service in the adjoining church.
