UNEMPLOYMENT has fallen again in the Winchester area.
There were 815 claimants of job seekers’ allowance in September, a drop of 38 from August, and a fall of 315 from the same month in 2009.
Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP Steve Brine has welcomed news, saying: “This does represent a significant fall in unemployment from August, and we are in a much better position currently than we were last year.
“It is important to note we still have some tough times ahead as the spending review implements our fiscal tightening plan but these numbers are certainly welcome at any time.”
