A WOMAN died after crashing into a tree in the Meon Valley yesterday evening.
The 61-year-old, who has not yet been named, was said to be overtaking in her Peugeot 206 when she left the B3035 Bishop's Waltham to Corhampton road, near Hazelholt Lodge, at about 6.20pm.
The woman, from Bishop's Waltham, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was said to be in the car and nobody else was injured.
Fire crews from Droxford and Bishop’s Waltham attended to free the woman from the wreckage.
Anyone who was in the area or saw the incident can call PC Andy Smith on 101 at the Fratton Road Policing Unit quoting Operation Finster.
