Summer fun with A2 Dominion

A SERIES of community events are being run in Winchester during the summer by housing association, A2 Dominion.

They include a community clean up at Turnpike Down in Winnall followed by fun activities.

Police, firefighters, Winchester City Council officers, and the authority’s junior wardens are all backing the clean up.

It will take place from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, August 11, and will be followed by two hours of fun. It will include refreshments, a raffle, children’s entertainer and face painting.

Lorna Anderson, A2 Dominion’s director of customer services, said: “This promises to be a fantastic event, giving residents the chance to come together to help clean up their local community.”

The streets covered include Gatekeeper Close, Limetree Walk, Peacock Place, Spitfire End, Longhouse Green, Roundhuts Rise and Ringlet Way.

A2 Dominion, which manages around 1,400 homes in Winchester, is also organising several other events.

Free football coaching for youngsters aged eight to 15 will take place at Winnall Primary School from 10.30am to midday on Fridays.

Similar sessions are being held at Henry Beaufort School in Harestock from 10.30am to noon on Thursdays.

Coaching is open to all, but parents must sign a form to allow their children to play.

A2 Dominion is also holding a tenants’ afternoon tea party at The Lanterns children’s centre in Bereweeke Road from 2 to 4pm on Thursday, August 12.

The association also plans to take a coach-load of youngsters from towns and cities across Hampshire to Bournemouth for the day.

The trip includes a safety role-play session, and places are for A2 tenants only.
