THE Earl of Wessex visited the historic Winchester College in military dress to present new colours to its combined cadet force.
The ceremony involved a parade of more than 100 cadets and officers, who marched to the band of the Prince of Wales Division.
The dignitaries watching on included Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, First Sea Lord, and Dame Mary Fagan, Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire.
Old Wykehamists Colonel Nigel Hoad and Lieutenant Colonel Nick Kitson also attended, returning to their former school.
A flypast by a World War II Spitfire rounded off the ceremony on Wednesday, May 5.
The college currently has 275 cadets and their duties include raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund and sending parcels to the troops in Afghanistan.
