Winchester will welcome cyclists from across the south this spring for a ride in honour of King Alfred the Great.
The 50-mile route from Wantage to Winchester links the monarch’s birthplace to his final resting place.
It is the third time it has taken place, and is part of the Hyde 900 scheme, which marks this year’s 900th anniversary of the foundation of Hyde Abbey in Winchester.
The ride on Sunday, May 16, which is sponsored by law firm, Eversheds, is non-competitive, and cyclists who want to take part can call 01962 867699.
