The Brooks Shopping Centre was evacuated for two hours on yesterday (Monday) afternoon after smoke was spotted in a department store.
The centre was sealed off shortly after 4.30pm following reports of smoke in a disabled toilet in Bhs.
But fire crews traced the problem to a light fitting in a walkway outside the department store, where a transformer had overheated.
