RESIDENTS are being offered the chance to sample fine wines with the Mayor of Winchester.
Cllr Dominic Hiscock is hosting the event at Abbey House in The Broadway, the official mayoral residence.
Wines from France and Italy will be on offer, along with the Italian grape-based brandy, grappa, and liqueurs.
It is being held to support the mayor’s charities, Trinity Winchester and Emmaus Hampshire, which both help the homeless.
Cllr Hiscock said: “The last Abbey House wine tasting was very well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by those who supported the Winchester-based charities.
“Many will be eager to come again to taste a very different range of wines and we hope many more will join them for what promises to be a really pleasant evening.”
The wine tasting, with nibbles, starts at 7.30pm on Friday, March 12. Tickets cost £20 and are available by sending an email to tevans@winchester.gov.uk.
