New look for Wednesday market

WEDNESDAYS are now fresh food and plants day at Winchester’s open-air market in Middle Brook Street.

Traders are stocking up on produce — much of it local — including fresh breads, meat, dairy produce and fish caught off the Hampshire coast.

There will also be flowers and plants, fruit and vegetables, jams and chutneys, and Mediterranean olives.

Winchester City Council leader, Cllr George Beckett, said the Wednesday market will have a new look, with gazebos and changes to the stall layout, making it easier for customers to walk around and browse.

Traders who want to join the Wednesday market should call Paul Lewis on 07971 646483.
