UNIVERSITY chiefs in Winchester will have to wait until March to learn the impact of proposed funding cuts.
Westminster is planning to spend £7.3bn nationally on higher education, around £450m less than expected.
Education chiefs have attacked the cuts, warning that some universities might have to turn students away because of a lack of funds.
The University of Winchester, which now has more than 5,000 students, is waiting to learn how much it will be affected.
A spokesman said they would be told in March what level of funding they are likely to receive.
