CHURCHES in Compton and Otterbourne are hoping to raise parish funds with a Christmas card scheme.
It will involve villagers leaving a festive message or card on a poster board at St Matthew’s in Otterbourne or All Saints’ in Compton.
Parishioners will then be asked to put a donation in a nearby box. Some money will go to the churches, while the rest will be given to Winchester Basics Bank, which provides food and clothes to Hampshire families in need.
All Saints’ will also be selling Christmas cards that feature the church, which are £4.95 for a box of 10.
