Winchester Animal Concern members will be marking Viva!’s Veggie Month at the Buttercross in the city centre tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am.
Free information and recipes will be available and the public will be encouraged to take part in Animal Aid's initiative to have a regular meat-free Monday.
Supporter Marjorie Pooley said: "On average people consume a staggering 11,047 animals in their lifetime. I've saved 10,725 animals since I stopped eating meat. The good news is Britain is slowly turning its back on meat-eating,with 50m less animals being killed each year, compared to three years ago."
