VISITORS have been admiring the efforts of the Wessex Quiltmakers in Winchester.
The group held an exhibition at the Middle Brook Centre to celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary.
The show, entitled ‘The last 30 years and sew on...’, gave members a chance to display their latest efforts.
Some of them have also put their needles and thimbles to work in producing a special work for Naomi House Children’s Hospice.
They plan to raffle it off to raise money for the charity, which is based at Sutton Scotney.
Tickets are available from independent sewing machines and textiles shop, Reads of Winchester. The store in St Thomas Street is sponsoring the contest.
Tickets are also available at the hospice’s charity shops across Hampshire, and more details are available on the club’s website, www.wessexquiltmakers.org.uk.
The draw will be made at Naomi House on Sunday, September 20, as part of its open weekend.
