FOUR men in a bathtub clocked up the fastest time in a charity race at Kings Worthy on Saturday.
Rory O’Mara, Mike Bridge, Phil Carr and Ian McCullagh completed the 20m dash at Meadow Farm field in 14.87 seconds.
The Wacky Races Go-Kart event, held opposite the King Charles pub in Lovedon Lane, raised more than £1,600, which will be split between a Mongolian street children charity and Naomi House, the children’s hospice at Sutton Scotney.
More than 40 go-karts took part , with many choosing to enter the £5-a-time race more than once.
“It was a huge success,” said Leigh McQueen, who organised the event with Liza Bowers-Stroud. “It was supposed to start small and get bigger over the years! Everybody has said they can’t wait until next year.”
