A FOUR-day real ale festival with live music and entertainment will be held at a Winchester pub from June 18.

The city’s Hyde Tavern will play host to the Hyde Midsummer Festival and will feature 15 guest beers and plenty of local acoustic music.

It is timed to coincide with the midsummer and promises a busy weekend of entertainment, including the Badminton Club Singers on Friday night, a hog roast on Saturday afternoon and the Ian and Paul Ensemble and a bring-your-own barbecue on Sunday 21 June, midsummer’s day.

Other attractions at the pub on Hyde Street will include fine-wine tasting, a pie-making competition, raffle and even an on-site clairvoyant.

Money raised from the event will benefit Trinity Winchester and Emmaus Hampshire which both work in support of the city’s homeless people.

During the event commemorative beer glasses will be sold for £10 giving customers a discount of 50p on each pint of guest ale.
