WINCHESTER traffic chiefs have identified several parts of Winchester as potential areas for a new 20mph speed limit.
The city and county councils are considering the new limit and research into accidents suggests that North Walls and St George’s Street are potential spots.
Stanmore, Harestock, Winnall and Highcliffe are estates that also could be considered, says a city council report.
Speed surveys will be undertaken and an analysis of casualty statistics will be also done.
They have been looking at how Portsmouth has managed to introduce the 20 limit The issue was due to be discussed at the town forum tonight.
