A NORTH Baddesley singer is on her way to becoming Britain’s Idol 2008.
Denise Medley (pictured) won the southern heat of the regional finals of the nationwide competition last month and now she’s in the grand final and up against singers from all over the UK. The grand finale will be held at Portsmouth Guildhall on November 29.
An ecstatic Denise, 24, said: “I am very thrilled. I didn’t think I’d win the regional finals. I sang Queen’s Somebody to Love. I am unsure how many people I will be up against in the grand finals, but I believe there will probably be about 20.
“I hope I am now on my way to stardom. I’d love to be in West End musicals and I wouldn’t say no to recording an album.”
Tickets for the final cost £12 and are available from the Guildhall box office by calling 02392 824355. Doors open at 7.30pm on the night.
