SIR — I use the A32 Fareham to Soberton road almost daily and when I turn right into Soberton it is like going off-road, as the surface throughout the village is a disgrace.
I am puzzled as to why the road from Middlington crossroads to the Swanmore road has been tarmaced and white-lined; I wonder who has the influence to get that done.
I appreciate that money is tight at the moment, so why is there a feasability study taking place to convert the A32 Hoads Hill road (to Fareham) from a two-carriageway up to a one- carriageway, thus making it impossible for traffic that has wound down through the valley to overtake safely going up the Hill.
I feel that the money would be better spent in the little villages that rely on transport for mobility, and decent roads for them, rather that wasting money on a system that works very well.
