BIDS have been flooding in for tickets for the talk by Tory leader David Cameron in Winchester on Friday, November 14.

Mr Cameron is bringing his roadshow to Kings’ School, starting at 6pm, for his first visit to the city since his campaign for the Tory leadership in November 2005.

Winchester Conservatives have been inundated with several hundred applications for tickets, and they are still available by calling 01962 762023.

Mr Cameron said: "I am delighted there has been so much interest in Friday’s event at Kings’ School. The point of these meetings is to hear directly from people about their opinions and concerns and I am really looking forward to meeting people in Winchester and answering their questions.”

Steve Brine, the prospective parliamentary candidate, said: “We want people of all political persuasions to come along and hear him.

“Winchester is a marginal constituency and Mr Cameron is visiting all the marginals and shows we really want to win back Winchester.”

Most of the applications were being sifted on Wednesday but Mr Brine said a small number would be held over to be allocated on Thursday.
