Blackheath's South African scrum-half Harvey Biljon is confident that Club will be in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season .... even though he will not be there to enjoy it.
Biljon arrived in London last season after playing three seasons for the famous Natal Sharks' under-21 team because he wanted to sample the different playing conditions found here, as well as doing the tourist bit!
However, Biljon will be returning to South Africa to link up with the Sharks for a second term.
Biljon, now 23, said: “There's a wonderful atmosphere at the Rectory Field and I really feel part of the club.
“I have been accepted by everyone, while on the pitch my team-mates react and listen to what I say and get into a pattern of play.
“It's great playing alongside fly-half Jonathan Griffin, because he is very talented.
“We soon got to know each other's games because we continuously talk to each other dring matches.
“The intensity and drive of all the players is there to see and, mark my words, we'll keep notching up the wins and suddenly the leading clubs will be shocked to find us right up there with them.”
Biljon added: “It will be strange finishing halfway through a season, but contractual negotiations are under way with Natal Sharks and I'm scheduled to report back for training with them in early January
“But it will be a wrench leaving Blackheath.”
