THERE was something for everyone at the Littleton and Harestock Show near Winchester on Saturday (September 6).
Hundreds defied the gloomy weather to attend the event which traditionally offers a wide range of attractions.
There was a junior football tournament and paintballing, model aircraft and falconry displays, a magician Andy Burns, Gardeners Question Time and a talk on Marwell Zoo.
The main show tent was packed with flowers, with classes ranging from dahlias to cacti, gladioli to roses. Showgoers were impressed by the standard of vegetables, with the show maintaining its reputation as one of the biggest in the county.
There were cries of delight as entrants spotted their victories and grumbles as others' hopes were dashed for another year.
Scores of local youngsters entered classes for art, poetry, handwriting, cookery, handwork and photography.
Musical entertainment was provided by the Army Medical Services Band, back for a second year.
Winchester Model and Engineering Society ran their enduringly popular model train ride.
The show activities are spread over three days, with a children's pet show last Thursday, Saturday's event and ecumenical service on Sunday in the show tent.
Money raised will go to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
