A DRIVER suffered serious injuries following a collision near Winchester.

The two-vehicle collision, which involved a Mini and a Honda Civic, occurred on Enmill Lane in Pitt, at the junction with the A3090, just after 6pm on Monday, April 15.

Police closed the road while emergency services attended the scene, with firefighters from Alresford, Eastleigh, St Mary’s, Redbridge and Basingstoke working to release one person who had become trapped in one of the vehicles.

One of the drivers suffered a serious injury. However, it was neither life threatening or life changing.

A police spokesman told the Chronicle: “We were called to a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision shortly after 6pm yesterday (Monday, April 15).

“The incident occurred on Enmill Lane, at the junction with the A3090, near Winchester.

“One of the drivers suffered a serious injury, which was not life threatening or life changing.

“The vehicles involved in the collision were a Mini and Honda Civic.”

A Fire Service spokesperson added: “Crews from Alresford, Eastleigh, St Mary’s, Redbridge and Basingstoke attended a road traffic incident in Pitt on April 15. The incident involved two cars. Firefighters worked to release one person who was trapped in one of the vehicles before handing the scene over to police colleagues and recovery. The initial call came in at just after 6.20pm and the stop message just before 7.20pm.”
