Local young hopefuls are invited to try out for a professional musical rendition of Sleeping Beauty, scheduled to take the stage at Theatre Royal Winchester this summer.
The story follows a princess put under a curse by an evil fairy, who is set to sleep for a century until someone who truly loves her awakens her with a kiss.
A handsome prince embarks on the journey to free the princess from the enchantment and save the kingdom.
The auditions are open to individuals between the ages of eight and 21 and take place at Theatre Royal Winchester on April 29 and at The Arc, Winchester on May 4.
Each audition will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Prospective actors will be rehearsed on some song lines, a short movement routine, and required to read from a script. There is no need to book a time slot or prepare in advance, however, those looking to audition must attend at least one session.
The Sleeping Beauty production will be steered by Rare Productions, a renowned children's theatre movement established in 2002.
Those successful at auditions will need to be available for the entire rehearsal period with dates yet to be disclosed, and play performances at Theatre Royal Winchester from August 1-3.
More details are available on the Playmakers website page.
