CITY council planning officers have rejected three applications using their delegated powers.
In Old Alresford Mr P Flood was refused permission to replace a tiled roof and introduce insulation at Arle Mill. Existing tiled and slated roofs have failed and are, potentially, having a deleterious effect on the structural integrity of the listed mill.

In Shedfield Sam Dumbrell's plan has been rejected for Shedfield Equestrian Centre, Botley Road. He applied for retrospective planning application for the change of use to open storage of recycled aggregate materials and the retention of ancillary office and workshop and associated works at Lockhams Recycling Ltd, Shedfield Equestrian Centre, Botley Road.

Alight Media can install a single illuminated 48-sheet digital advertisement display at Easton Lane Business Park, Easton Lane, Winnall.

The other applications were approved.
In Colden Common Mr and Mrs Faizi can build a rear extension at Woodleigh, 144 Main Road.

Mr and Mrs Arriens can make roof alterations to include raising of ridge with rear dormer to provide first floor accommodation, front porch, single storey side extension and woodburner flue at 39 Church Lane, Colden Common.

In Crawley Mr and Mrs Collins has permission to demolish a conservatory and build a two-storey side extension at Farley View, Littleton Road.

Norma Morris can build a new entrance on land in New Barn Lane, Crawley.

In Hursley Phil Pratt is permitted to build a replacement single storey, rear extension to building formerly in the curtilage of a listed building with a change of use application to include an orchard at Home Close Stables, 41a Main Road.

Meanwhile in Harestock, Mr and Mrs Svetlana and Giuseppe Gagliardi have permission for a new ground floor front extension with flat roof and internal remodelling at 38 Bramshaw Close.

Just down the road someone listed as 'Bee' has approval for a single storey side extension to enlarge the kitchen, and form a utility and office space. Side access to be maintained. Minor internal reconfiguration to provide a downstairs WC, at 9 Chawton Close.

Ed Mendelsohn has approval at 38 The Dean Alresford for a first floor extension.

At 10 Elm Road, Alresford, Mr and Mrs Hanks can build a single storey rear/side extension and external changes.

In Old Alresford Robert and Lindsey Hall are allowed to have a new link extension between existing house and garage at Penrhyn, Drove Lane.

in Swanmore Gwynne Lewis can replace a rear garden shed with oak framed outbuilding, and associated landscaping at Newton Cottage Swanmore Road.

Near Wickham Emma Duncan can have a new balcony (following demolition of existing pergola), including altering ground levels below balcony at Fontwell House, Fontley Road.
In Winchester Rob Weller can put in signs and lighting at 1 Bridge Street.

Just up the road at Polizia, formerly the Black Bottle wine bar, at 4 Bridge Street, approval has been granted to extend opening hours to make the business viable.

At 71 High Street, the site occupied on the ground floor by Dogs Trust charity shop, permission has been given for Mr D Roberts to have a new hanging sign, removal of a bay window and replacement with a new traditional timber sash window, removal of modern dormer window and replacement new front door with signage manifestation and associated works (affects the setting of a listed building).

Lastly, Pamela Iannotti can erect a conservatory with a Lawful Development Certificate at Antrim Cottage,  4 Culverwell Gardens.
