A GARAGE and an outhouse in Romsey were destroyed by a fire.

Crews from Eastleigh, Romsey, St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hythe and Beaulieu tackled the blaze in Fairview Road this morning (February 1) where an entire garage and outhouse were engulfed by flames.

The fire involved a garage and the first floor and roof of a house, with smoke billowing from the property.

Multiple fire engines and other specialist vehicles were on site including an aerial ladder platform. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used jets and hose reels to put out the flames.

The fire service was called just after 9.30am and the fire was out by 11.30am. Crew remained on site dampen down.

There are no reported injuries but he entire garage and outhouse was destroyed by the fire. The roof and first floor of the house also suffered significant damage in the blaze.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire Service said: “The initial investigation has suggested the cause is electrical.”
