ROMSEY Bowling Club has held a whist drive to raise money for charity.

The drive was held on Tuesday, January 23, with 36 club members taking part.

Tea and cake made by club members was served during an interval, with overall winner Sharon Arney receiving a bottle of wine.

The event raised £250 in total, with £125 going to club funds and the other half going to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, the chosen charity for the club’s president Gill Wait for this year.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance relies entirely on public donations to ensure it can bring its life-saving care to the most seriously ill and injured patients.

The total that Romsey Bowling Club has raised for the charity so far this year is £426.50.
