A HAMPSHIRE rotary club is due to send five incubators to hospitals in Ukraine.

Bishop's Waltham Rotary Club will be shipping the much-needed incubators in the next few months.

The club previously sent warm clothing, sleeping bags and medical supplies and was put in touch with the Ukraine Medical Association.

A Rotary club spokesman said: “We also have contact with and have supported the Hampshire Medical Fund who provide cutting edge medical equipment to Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover. When a representative from Hampshire Medical Fund heard about our support to Ukraine whilst giving a presentation to one of our weekly meetings, they informed us that they were in the process of supplying some new incubators to Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

“We quickly started the ball rolling to try and secure the outgoing incubators, which were still fully serviceable, so that we could, if successful, send them to Ukraine. So far, we have secured five desperately needed incubators which will be shipped to Ukraine over the next couple of months along with other much-needed medical equipment.”
