TICKETS are on sale for the Worthy Players’ pantomime, Dick Whittington.

The show will be performed at the Jubilee Hall in Kings Worthy at 7.30pm on December 1, 2, 8 and 9, with an additional matinee at 2.30 on Saturday, December 2.

In the celebration of the Players’ 50th anniversary year, the amateur dramatic society is reviving Dick Whittington as the first pantomime they performed in 1973.

Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts along with the bar. Tickets cost £10 for adults and £8 for seniors, children and students.

THE Worthies Craft and Makers Market continues on Sunday, October 22 at the Sport and Social Club in Loader Close.

The craft fair is open 10am-2pm and covers two rooms with hot food, tea and coffee and a bar also available. For availability on booking a stall contact Carol Ansell on 07964898539 and leave a message.

LITTLETON and Harestock’s first eco-fair has been hailed a success. The parish council was pleased with the public interest and support it received.

Parish Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE) chair, Cllr Liz Winn, said: “It was a really enjoyable event for everyone involved and linking it to Winchester Green Week and the City’s Mass Bike Ride gave it a strong focus.

“There is definitely local recognition that more needs to be done to tackle the climate emergency. We are always looking for volunteers to join our group to provide information and to get involved in local initiatives.”

PACE has created An A-Z list of how and where to recycle locally which is available on the parish website at https://lhpc.org.uk/local-recycling/.

The parish council is also keen to hear from repairers who could help with a new local branch of Winchester Repair Café.

VOLUNTEERS from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal will be collecting donations at Littleton Recreation Ground Car Park on Saturday, October 28 from 9am – 4pm. The parish council is hoping people will give their support to help the armed forces community. Cash or card will be accepted.

EVERYONE is welcome to join the All Souls Service at St Stephen’s Church in Sparsholt at 6pm on Sunday, October 29. The service is a way for people to remember their loved ones and light a candle in their memory.

Anyone who would like the name of a loved one they have lost read out during the service should contact Sally Wesley at sally.wesley@btinternet.com by Friday, October 20.

SPARSHOLT’S fireworks display will be at The Plough Inn this year on Saturday, November 4. Festivities begin at 6.30pm including competitions, food and drinks and a bonfire before the fireworks at 7.15pm.

Tickets can be purchased for £5 ahead of the day from the pub and village shops or for £7 on the day.

SPARSHOLT Music’s winter concert will be on Sunday, December 3 at 3pm in the village hall. Tickets will be available from Saturday, November 11 and must be purchased by Friday, December 1. For more information go to sparsholtmusic.org/.

RESIDENTS in Sparsholt are being told to save the date for the Christmas Market and tree delivery day. The event will be open on Sunday, December 10 from 10am-2pm. More information will be shared nearer the time.
