SPARSHOLT Harvest Supper will be held at the Memorial Hall on Saturday, October 14. Tickets must be bought by Monday, October 9 from Sparsholt Village Shop or Sally Wesley (776476).

Tickets cost £12.50 per adult or £30 for a family with children under 14. The event includes a quiz, raffle, drinks and the meal from 7pm. Visitors should inform Sally of any dietary requirements in advance.

SPARSHOLT Parish Council will be supporting Winchester Well Being Lunch Club by subsidising the travel costs for Sparsholt residents who need transport to go along.

Residents who know of anyone in the village over 55 who might benefit from joining, put them in contact with the lunch club coordinator Jo Jackson on 07907503421 or winchesterwellbeing@gmail.com.

ANNUAL reminder for Sparsholt resident to cut their hedges. Those living near footpaths and roads have been advised to be particularly careful to avoid danger to walkers and damage to cars.

SAVE the date for Sparsholt Christmas Market and Christmas tree delivery day on Sunday, December 10 from 10am-2pm. More details will be released nearer the time.

SPARSHOLT Music announced its summer concert raised around £600 which has been distributed around the village.

The winter concert will be on Sunday, December 3 at 3pm in the village hall. Tickets will be available from Saturday, November 11 and must be purchased by Friday, December 1. Event organisers said they could benefit from more volunteers to help make cakes.

The programme will include the first movement of Debussy’s violin sonata, a new piano trio playing Schubert, some piano music and other surprises. For more information go to https://www.sparsholtmusic.org/.

THE Memorial Hall in Sparsholt is recruiting new committee members. Two new volunteers are needed to help the group of villagers look after and manage the hall.

After 25 years, Liz West is stepping down as booking secretary but will be on available throughout the handover to advise and pass on relevant information.

‘THE Great Kings Worthy Clean Up – Autumn Litter Pick’ returns on Saturday, September 30. Litter pickers will meet at Tubbs Hall for clean up from 2pm until 4pm.

Equipment and refreshments will be provided. Children will receive a certificate for taking part but must be accompanied by an adult.

THE Worthys Youth Football Club is running a quiz night on Saturday, October 14 at the Worthies Sports and Social Club. Maximum of six per team, costing £3 per player. The quiz starts at 7.30pm. To book a table email wyouthfc.fundraising@gmail.com.

LITTLETON and Harestock Gardening Club will next be meeting on Wednesday, October 18 for a talk with Simon Goldsack on ‘The Making of a New Public Garden’.

The group meets every third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm at Millennium Memorial Hall. Visitors and members hear from a guest speaker each meeting and have the chance to socialise with fellow gardeners.

LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Action on the Climate Emergency (PACE) is organising a mini Eco-Fair outside the March Hare pub on Saturday, September 30. 

The group is planning to provide information on energy efficiency, recycling opportunities, waste prevention and more.
