BOOMTOWN: Chapter Two: The Twin Trail has been lighting up the Matterley Estate since Wednesday.

Ever wondered how big Boomtown is?

Those of you who have read my reviews of each day may have picked up on a recurring theme - it is enormous.

The Matterley Estate is 503 hectares, or 1250 acres, which, in layman's terms, is massive.

Still can't picture it? Let this TikTok video put into perspective the distance from the car park to the entertainment:

@hampshire_chronicle Look how long it takes to get from the car park to Boomtown #Boomtown #BoomtownFestival #Boomtown2023 #FestivalSeason #MusicFestival #CapCut ♬ Holiday Upbeat Pop featuring ukulele, acoustic guitars. (Title : Party Bag) - Yuki Ishii

I was able to complete this short journey in about 30 minutes, at a fairly rapid walking pace, others have been known to take over an hour.

The car park is the complete other side of the festival to my campsite, which also happens to be nowhere near the press centre, which means I have an awful lot of walking to do every day that I'm here.

On day one, I clocked just over 17,000 steps, and the previous three days have been either above or just below the 30,000 mark.

At the end of each day, many exhausted faces can be seen on the hills up to the campsites, as previously bright and hopeful festivalgoers struggle to conjure the energy to get back to their tents.

Are you fit enough to complete this journey?
