REPORTER Matt Rooks-Taylor is at Boomtown for the Hampshire Chronicle. Here's how the third day of the festival went...
Day three of Boomtown: Chapter Two: The Twin Trail was phenomenal.
Midday is when it all began, the epic opening show pulled thousands of festival-goers to the Origin stage.
Incredible music performances with a series of stunning pyrotechnics and lasers kicked off what will no doubt be an unforgettable weekend.
My head still reverberating from the bass-iest of speakers, and I eventually made my way to the tent run by an organisation called 'We Are The Loop' - an organisation set up to assist with 'drug-related harm prevention' - where I spoke with CEO Katie Potter about how drug users can find accurate information that can help them stay safe at festivals.
After an inciteful chat, I found myself in a predicament as to what to have for lunch, and I went to a vendor named 'Moony's Halloumi', where I purchased eight halloumi fries which came with two dips (sweet chilli and hot sauce).
Upon taking my first bite I knew that they were exactly what I needed at that moment in time. It was like the stars aligned; I was in culinary Heaven.
In the evening, I was enjoying some downtime with my tent neighbours, while listening to Manchester City demolish Burnley in the opening game of the Premier League season.
It was then a notification popped up on our phones that would change the course of the weekend: Chase and Status are replacing The Prodigy.
I was delighted, as I know more of their songs than The Prodigy's, and after speaking to others in the camp, the general consensus seemed to be positive.
Fuelled by the excitement of this news, we headed down to the Origin stage to see one of the biggest names at Boomtown this year, Sub Focus Ft. MC ID.
What a performance.
An absolutely remarkable DJ set was topped with an extraordinary light show, which was quite a sight to behold.
After an hour and a half of Mr Focus' musical magic, I was ready to go back to my camp. My legs and feet were in pain from another day of 30,000 steps racked up.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
Am I excited for Cypress Hill on day four?
Absolutely.
