THE Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has launched a recruitment drive across Hampshire for a range of roles to support the rehabilitation of offenders.

From probation services officers to Community Payback (CP) supervisors, the roles will see applicants help offenders get their lives back on track.

Key new roles include case administrators and probation services officers, who support offenders on their rehabilitation journey, helping them to make better life choices and gain access to training, reducing the chances they will re-offend.

The MoJ is also looking for CP supervisors, who work hands-on to oversee CP projects on the ground and for placement coordinators.

The recruitment drive in Hampshire will support efforts to both reduce crime and help make safer places to live. The workforce of current Probation Service staff are calling for others to take up a role to support the 230,000 offenders serving community sentences and individuals who are pre- or post-release from prison.

Specific roles available currently include case administrators who use their communication skills to support their probation colleagues and help offenders turn their lives around; probation services officers who undertake a full range of work with offenders before and after sentence and in the community, including assessments, sentencing and managing people throughout their probation period; community payback supervisors who lead small teams to complete their unpaid work hours; and community payback placement coordinators, who establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders to make sure there are sufficient numbers of CP work placements.

The new roles are open to a wide range of applicants and are ideal for those looking for a rewarding career where you can both motivate and inspire others to change for the better, and build better and safer places to live.

Louise Scutts, a senior administrative officer in the Probation Service who lives in Hampshire said: “Becoming a Senior Administrative Officer within the Probation Service is the best thing I have ever done. Every day I feel that my work is not only recognised, but actually making a difference and improving the lives of offenders. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a career change to consider joining the Probation team. With the right attitude and drive you too can help people on the rehabilitation journey.”

Applications for the positions close on Monday, July 10. To apply for the roles or find out more, visit probationjobs.co.uk/.
